It aims to shift from a sectoral and segmented approach to health service delivery towards a comprehensive need-based healthcare system. The scheme introduces path-breaking interventions to holistically address the healthcare system across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, including prevention, promotion, and ambulatory care.

Services & Benefits Covered

Hospitalization: Covers secondary and tertiary treatments — surgeries, ICU care, cardiac and cancer procedures, and day-care treatments, with over 1,300–1,900 pre-defined packages.
Pre- and Post-Hospitalization: Includes coverage for 3 days pre-admission and 15 days post-discharge (consultations, diagnostics, medicines).
